We need to rebuild our school with blocks and cement — the children's health depends on it. We also need a library and computer lab so our graduates have a quality start.
— Patricia Monday, Founder & Teacher
Founded by a refugee who turned her hardship into a mission to educate.
Patricia Monday arrived in Ghana as a refugee from Liberia at age four. Growing up in Cape Coast, she experienced firsthand the financial barriers that stifle a child's education. Determined to change that, she built a classroom from wood and began teaching children who had nowhere else to go. What started with 15 students and 2 teachers in 2014 now serves over 200 children — with a waiting list. Five dedicated teachers earn roughly $700 per year each, teaching multiple grade levels in shifts, in a structure where the roof leaks every time it rains.
