The Need

Bless Kiddies Land School was identified as a school needing support for basic educational materials and safer learning conditions. Classrooms lack adequate ventilation, roofs leak when it rains forcing children to go home, and there is urgent need for desks, toilets, handwashing facilities, a safe playground, a canteen, clean drinking water, a library, and a computer lab.

The Story Behind the School

Bless Kiddies Land Preparatory School was founded by Patricia Monday, a refugee from Liberia who arrived in Ghana at the age of four. Growing up in Cape Coast, she experienced firsthand how financial hardship can limit a child’s access to education. Determined to make a difference, she built a wooden classroom and began teaching children in her community.

The school officially opened in January 2014 with 15 students and two teachers. Today, it serves more than 200 children from Kindergarten to Grade 7 and has a waiting list. With only five dedicated teachers, limited classroom space, and a roof that leaks whenever it rains, the school continues to serve children with resilience, commitment, and hope.

We need to rebuild our school with blocks and cement because the children’s health and safety depend on it. We also need a library and computer lab to help our graduates build a strong foundation as they prepare for secondary school.
